Earl Douglas Brewington, 75, of 395 New Bethel Road, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021, at his home.

A funeral will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, June 19th at New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Chris Webb and Rev. Ricky Jacobs officiating.  He will be available for viewing one hour before the service at the church.  Interment will follow the funeral in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the cemetery and at other times at the home of his sister Milley, at 430 New Bethel Road, Clinton.

Earl, born January 8, 1946, in Sampson County, was the son of the late Matthew Festus Brewington and Sudie Mae Chavis Brewington.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Russell Lee.   He was a NCDA Witchweed Plant Pest Inspector for 25 years.  He served on the USS Canberra CG2 from 1964 to 1968 and was named sailor of the year in 1967 in Guam.

 Later he drove trucks and farmed.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Russell Brewington.

Survivors include his siblings, Regina Mae B. Shipman, Milley R. Brewington, Lesa B. Locklear and husband David, and Pamela B. Callahan and husband Bruce “Ronnie”.
