Our beloved parents, Henry and Jane Tisdale passed away after 66 years of marriage. Jane age 86, passed away on October 27, 2019 and Henry age 88, followed her in death on March 13, 2021. They were surrounded by loved ones at the time of their passing in Ellicott City, Maryland. Henry was born on March 2, 1933 in El Paso, Texas to Henry Sr. and Edna Tisdale. Jane was born on September 19,1933 in Clinton, North Carolina to Walter Percy and Sudie Mae Collins. They met and fell in love while attending Texas University in El Paso, Texas. They were married in New Mexico on March 21, 1953. Soon after, in what was a pivotal year for them, Henry enlisted in the Air Force which took them via Biloxi, Mississippi to Landsberg Air Force Base in Germany (where Johnny Cash was his superior officer as morse code listening specialists) and Augsburg, Germany. Upon their return to the states Maryland became home. Henry enjoyed many years working with at Autohaus Tischer and was a remarkable salesman, manager and overall car enthusiast. Jane and Henry enjoyed many road rallies in the early years. Jane entered the banking industry and made her mark in management despite the ever changing workplace. In retirement, they relocated to their dream home in Lewes, Delaware where Henry enjoyed golfing and was active as a RC airplane club member along with taking care of their wonderful home that hosted many family and friends. Jane filled her time between hosting family events with sewing and flower gardening but knitting and shopping were her favorites. As a couple, Henry and Jane were generous, loving, kind and compassionate. They loved to host family and friends and liked to call their house “Hotel Tisdale”. They loved traveling by car as they did many miles through the years visiting friends and family across the continent from the many contacts they made in their lives. Henry and Jane are survived by their daughters Diane LeCluyse (son in law Tom LeCluyse) and Karen Chanmugam (son in law Arjun Chanmugam), grandchildren Andrea, Benjamin, Cierra, Sydney, William and Nathan who affectionately knew them as Nana and Pop Pop, great grandchildren Summer and Devyn and Henry’s brother Hart, and predeceased by son Henry the 3rd. They will forever be remembered in our hearts with love. We are holding a celebration of life on June 4, 2022 at Springvale Cemetery in Clinton, North Carolina at 11 am for both Henry and Jane and will be hosting an informal luncheon at the Comfort Inn in Clinton afterwards.
