Regina Parker Obituary

Regina Parker, 52, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Sampson Regional Medical Center. She is survived by her husband, Richard Parker; daughter, Sarah Burgin (Colton); Sarah’s father, Scott Burgin; brother, Preston Hammock (Kristi); mother, Jewell Hammock. Additional survivors include numerous extended family members and dearly loved friends.

Regina graduated with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from East Carolina University in 2019. Her passion for nursing and patient care led her many places, most recently working as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Duplin County Health Department. She also loved being a nursing instructor at Sampson Community College and working as a nurse at Sampson Regional Medical Center. She will live on through the many nurses she had the privilege of teaching and working with.

Regina was a vital Board member of Life Line Sampson in Clinton, NC, which is a local pregnancy support center where she oversaw all things medical. She worked with clients, administered pregnancy tests, encouraged expectant moms, and prayed with them. She loved every woman that walked in the doors, advocated for the unborn and stood for life, while letting every person that she met know that Jesus loves them and they are valued. She had completed her didactic ultrasound training and was ready for the hands on training to begin doing ultrasounds for Life Line Sampson. She was driven to do as much for Life Line Sampson as possible and cared deeply about the impact it has in the community.

Regina attended Stedman Pentecostal Holiness Church with her husband, Richard Parker. Regina enjoyed singing with the choir and praise team. She sang beautifully and loved worshipping her savior, Jesus Christ.

Regina’s legacy will be felt beyond Sampson and Duplin counties. She loved Jesus, her family, students, coworkers, and friends.
