Reverend Luther (L.D.) Creech, 92, of Clinton, NC
Revered Luther (L.D.) Creech, 92, of Clinton passed away Thursday November 24 at Southwood Nursing Center surrounded by his family. Mr. Creech was raised on a sharecropper’s farm in Johnston Co, NC. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War 1950-1953. When he returned home, he married Janet Massengill. He was a long distance truck driver before he answered the call to preach the gospel. He evangelized all over North Carolina. He pastored churches in Fayetteville, Greensboro, and lastly serving Colonial Heights Church in Clinton for 25 years. Mr. Creech also served as Chaplain for Mary Gran and Southwood Nursing Centers. He had a radio program on WRRZ for years, where he was able to spread the gospel, which was his main goal and purpose. After retiring, Mr. Creech was a faithful member of Bethany Church in Clinton, NC.
Mr. Creech was preceded in death by his parents Luther & Lillian, brothers Tommy, Ronald, Jake, & Glenn. Sisters Sarah Lee, Evelyn, Annice, and Louise.
He also is preceded in death by his loving wife, Janet and his son Larry Creech.
Mr. Creech is survived by his daughters Linda (Wayne) Andrews, Sharon (Charles Ray) Jernigan, Daughter in Law Debra (Larry) Watts Creech and son Danny (Karen) Creech.
Grandchildren: Christie Andrews (Steve) Wiley, Phillip (Elizabeth) Andrews, Jack (Lesa) Gunnells, Cameron (Andrea) Creech, Matthew (Lindsay) Creech, Crystal (Patrick) O’Mara, Tyler (Carry) Jernigan, Ashley (Jordan) Hunt, Jacob Jernigan and girlfriend Elvy.
Great-Grand Children: Chandler Hood (girlfriend Lauren), Caitlin Hood (boyfriend Brennen), Zachary Wiley, Christopher Wiley, Berkley Wiley, Anna Parker Andrews, Caroline Andrews, Will Andrews, Jackson Gunnells, Brody Gunnells, Willow Jernigan, Ellie Kate Jernigan, Parker Creech, Zay Hunt, Lainey Hunt, Makayla O’Mara, Madelyn O’Mara, Makenzie O’Mara, Baby Creech due in May (Matthew), Honorary great grandchildren Stacy, Tatum, and Charlie Ann White. The family also wishes to thank Reverend Jim Mullen for his years of love and support. The family would also like to thank the special care givers at Southwood Nursing Center and Liberty Hospice.

Funeral Service with military honors will be held at 3PM, Sunday, November 27th at Colonial Heights FWB Church with Reverend Tyler Jernigan and Reverend Jim Mullen. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall. A private burial will be held at a later date.
